Reinventing Renting

The major investors in the Private Rented Sector are introducing initiatives which are “reinventing renting” by providing facilities that are attractive to busy young professional people, and by doing so, these developments are creating a new community but at the same time offering security.

As well as a 24 hour concierge and night security, or in some cases a dedicated on- site property manager, there may be well equipped gymnasiums in larger developments, and other innovations including a virtual concierge for every tenant (a tablet pre-loaded with local services contacts), free wi-fi, complimentary spring cleans and maintenance inspections, on-site dry cleaning and laundry services as well as extra storage space.

In this way, tenants can pay their rent, report a repair, and track the progress of their repair online.

Additionally, the larger PRS apartment developments may provide for tenants a large area of shared amenity space which can include exercise areas, cinemas, communal lounges, workshop space for school projects or DIY, barbecues, pizza ovens and in some developments rooftop allotments on the external terraces.
